Trained Therapy Dog Joins CPPS

We are excited to share that Cairnlea Park Primary School will be welcoming a trained therapy dog onsite to support our students.
Our therapy dog Marni is a friendly chocolate Labradoodle who has many experiences interacting with children.

She and her handler, Mr Tomkins, have both been extensively trained by Lead the Way Institute to provide safe and positive interactions.

Research shows that therapy dogs can help improve student wellbeing, reduce stress, encourage positive social interactions and enhance engagement in learning. Marni will be part of various school activities, offering comfort and encouragement to students in a calm and supportive manner.

If you have any questions, or if you do not wish for your child to interact with Marni, please contact Mr Tomkins on 9363 1187 or matthew.tomkins@education.vic.gov.au
